In the summer of 1931, Jonathan Biggs, an English Zoologist, travels to Norway to study the Norwegian Lemming on behalf of his University.
There he meets with Gunnar, a local amateur and enthusiast on the subject of rodents, and together they study the behaviour of the infamous Norwegian Lemming in their wild habitats.
He also meets Hilde, Gunnar’s sister, who proves to be an intoxicating muse.
A host of other interesting characters of various nationalities present themselves in this two month long expedition in the wilderness of northern Norway.
